Admission to PhD in Neurosciences Division

~~Applications are invited for PhD in Neurosciences Division under the School of Biological Sciences for the academic year 2021-22.~~

Research Projects:

Studying the neuroplastic manifestation in the brain on regular rhythmic recitations (chanting) of Sanskrit slokas.
Studying the cognitive, emotional and motivational aspects in underprivileged children.
Understanding network plasticity in chronic pain disorders.
Development of Brain Imaging (eg. MRI) data analyses methods to investigate the structural/ functional organisations of human brain and their relationships to behaviours in health and diseases.
Understanding the genetic basis of the human brain structure and function in health and in diseases.

Eligibility Criteria

CSIR-UGC NET, DBT, DST and others junior research fellowship (JRF) awardees from any branch of life sciences, medical sciences, engineering, mathematical science, physics, statistics, computational biology and other allied fields are encouraged to apply.
Applicants should be highly motivated, energetic and are oriented towards transforming novel ideas to innovation in translational cognitive and computational neuroscience research.
For first three research projects candidates with basic knowledge in MATLAB or Python programming are preferred although not mandatory. For projects 4 and 5, previous experiences of computer scripting in MATLAB or in other programming languages are preferred.
For the first project candidates having linguistic background with knowledge in Sanskrit will be preferred.

Selection Procedure

Applicants will be selected on the basis of a rigorous viva-voce examination.

Download the Admit Card: Once Application-form is successfully submitted and application-fee is paid, Admit Card (also Receipt and Application-summary) will be available for download from the same Portal from the Menu/Page ‘Application Status‘.

Admission and Course Fee

Admission process shall begin immediately after the announcement of results of the interview. The selected candidates willing to take admission may get admitted by paying the requisite fees. Fees structure is given on the page: Academic Fees Structure
