Admission to MSc in Medical Biotechnology (MdBt) for the academic year 2026-2027
Applications are invited from candidates meeting the minimum eligibility criteria for admission to Master of Science in Medical Biotechnology (Mdbt) for the academic year 2026-2027.

Eligibility to Apply
Both male and female candidates having any of the following degree are eligible to apply.
- B.Sc. (Hons.) with minimum 50% marks in any branches of Biological Sciences/Biotechnology/allied subjects, OR
- B.Sc. (General: 3 years degree course) with minimum 60% marks in any branches of Biological Sciences/allied subjects, OR
- B.Sc. (Hons.) in Physics/ Chemistry/ Mathematics with Life Sciences at (10+2) level with minimum 50% marks, OR
- MBBS/ BVSc/ BDS/ B.Pharm/ B.E./ B.Tech. in Biotechnology with minimum 60% marks
Minimum % marks requirement would be relaxed for reserved categories as per the government rules. Students who are appearing or have appeared in the final year/semester exam and whose results are awaited may also apply.
NOTE: Mere fulfilment of minimal criteria does not ensure shortlisting of candidates to be called for interview.
How to Apply

- Pay Application Fee: Submit the INR 300 application fee online.
- Upload Documents: Upload necessary documents (photo, mark sheets, certificates etc.).
- Download Summary & Receipt: Save the application summary and fee receipt after payment.
- Admit Card: Check the portal for Admission Test/Interview dates and download your admit card when available.

Important Dates
- Commencement of online application: 9 May 2026
- Last date for online submission of application forms and application fees: 15 June 2026
- Admission Test (Offline): 20 & 21 June 2026 (venue: RKMVERI’s Narendrapur Campus)—details will be notified later
- Publication of the preliminary list of candidates who will be called for interview: 29 June 2026
- Dates of Interviews: 9, 10 11, 12, 13 July 2026—details will be notified later
- Publication of the list of selected candidates (including those kept in the Waiting List): 18 July 2026
- Last date for online fee payment for selected candidates (NO CASH PAYMENT is allowed): anyday from 20 to 24 July 2026
- Display of vacant seats on the website (programme-wise): 25 July 2026
- Physical Counselling for wait-listed candidates (all programmes): 25 and 26 July 2026—details will be notified later
- Classes begin for the newly admitted students of all the programmes: 29 July 2026 (sacred Guru Purnima)
Examination Centres for the Admission Test
Outstation candidates (from outside the State of West Bengal) may opt for any Centre near their their home, if necessary, for which a request email may please be sent to Brahmachari Aditya Maharaj (Yogesha Chaitanya) at the following email: . While there no guarantee that we shall be able to make such arrangement in all cases, we will make an honest effort to help the candidates.
Admission and Course Fee
Admission process shall begin immediately after the announcement of results of the interview. The selected candidates willing to take admission may get admitted by paying the requisite fees.

NOTE: Expenses for the field-work related activities would be borne by the students separately as and when applicable during the programme.
Certificates to be submitted at the time of Admission
- Migration certificate from the Board/University in which candidate last studied.
- Medical/Health certificate from registered medical practitioner.
- Conduct certificate from the Head of the Institution last attended.
Special Note
- Candidates are expected to attend ALL THE CLASSES from day one. Those failing to join the classes after taking admission for 3 continuous days without information and/or permission from the University authorities will run the risk of cancellation of their admission.
- Admission will be cancelled if the student does not produce his/her final semester/year mark sheets/other relevant certificates (BSc degree certificates, etc.) within 10 days of publication of the results by the respective university.
- No hostel facility is available at present. However, the university will help the students obtain the ‘paying guest’ facility in the vicinity of the campus.
