About the Programme
The two-year (four semesters) M.Sc. in Medical Biotechnology programme consists of about 100 credits comprising of theory, experiments, electives and dissertations. Students will get hands-on experience of working in a clinical setting – exposure to medical technologies and clinical devices, to promote skill and outcome based education. Courses on Medical Microbiology, Clinical Biochemistry, Clinical Genetics, Molecular Diagnostics & Devices and others have been specially designed as per Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Government of India guidelines to introduce students to different areas and applications of Medical Biotechnology.
The aim of the programme is to provide deep understanding of cutting edge techniques used to analyse complex biological samples and prepare students for leadership in critically important and dynamic industries of biotechnology, healthcare and pharmaceuticals. Students can of course, and would be encouraged to go for further studies such as MPhil/PhD, for teaching and research jobs in colleges, universities and research institutes.
